Last week, KRK was at Dancefair in beautiful Utrecht NL where we held many informative workshops for the ever-growing clientele that continue to show more support to the conference each year. Some of the selected KRK guests included Ilan Bluestone (who also put on an incredible set that night at A State of Trance), Rodg, Cloud 9, Sick Individuals, and studio-building guru Jan Morel who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry–some including David Guetta, Hardwell, Nicky Romero, Martin Garrix, to name just a few.
Besides having great interactive conversations with the above-mentioned industry pros, one of the great things about the conference was hearing incredible music from the up-and-coming artists who attended the conference. At any given moment, someone would walk into the room wanting to hear their mixes clearly on KRK Monitors, and more often than not, a crowd would gather around to listen in and interact with that artist. The mojo and vibe was constantly positive and flowing; “Wow man, how did you get that sound?” Or, “That is a great song, how did you get that vocal sound?” were common comments constantly heard in our KRK room. Quite frankly, it was refreshing to hear a group of evenly-spirited musicians, DJ’s and professionals coming together to support and inspire one another.
Another fun and interesting element to this conference was interacting with artists who were hearing their mixes in a more defined way on our KRK monitors. We had a great array of different KRK’s to listen to including the new V-Series side by side with the time-tested and true Rokit Series. Many artists overlook the fact that what sounds great in their mixing room on their speakers may not translate into the real world, so to enable artists to hear what they created in our demo room was a great experience.
