Platinum Producer Johhny G taps KRK GoAux

Brand’s mobile monitors provide next-level portability and sound in music production

MIAMI, JULY 8, 2025 ― Billboard-charting, platinum-selling Artist, Producer, and Creative Visionary Johhny G is making waves in the music industry. He started one of TikTok’s biggest dance trends of 2020 and the viral Chinese New Year Remix #vibechallenge. Known for his genre-defying style and catchy hits, Johnny G is turning heads with his new KRK GoAux 4 Portable Studio Monitor setup, which is as dynamic as his sound.

Best known for working with iconic talent like YG Marley on songs like “Praise Jah in the Moonlight,” Johhny G’s production toolkit just got a powerful upgrade. A long-time user of KRK’s ROKIT 10-3 Powered Studio Monitors, Johnny G has now also embraced the ultra-portable GoAux, and he’s not looking back. “I like the GoAux because they are compact and convenient,” he says. “The carrying case makes it super easy to travel and transport where I need to go, and the sound is great as well.”

From impromptu beat-making sessions to vibing out with mixes, Johhny G appreciates the flexibility and uncompromised audio quality that KRK brings to his creative workflow. “I use the GoAux mainly for home mixing sessions,” he explains. “I will set the monitors up and make beats from anywhere — the kitchen, balcony, you name it.”

Beyond just production, the GoAux monitors have become a crucial tool for Johhny G for playback and referencing. “My KRKs have good, clear sound and have helped me in my creative process,” he adds. “At the end of the day, I want everything to sound good, whether that’s through headphones or in the car, and these monitors help make sure of that.”

Of course, it’s not just about sound — it’s also about the vibe. “I enjoy the aesthetics of KRK in general,” Johhny G adds. “The look of the monitors is cool, and the bright yellow cones really stands out.”

With humble beginnings in South Florida, Johhny G’s journey as an artist and producer began in high school, when he first dove into the depths of music-making. Since then, he has grown into a multifaceted creator who doesn’t believe in genres or labels, just great sound and boundless creativity. “KRK was the first pair of speakers I ever owned,” Johhny G reflects. “I grew up using them, and they really helped me find my sound.”

Whether it’s through his viral hits or high-energy TikTok dance challenges, Johhny G continues to push musical boundaries. His upcoming single, “Human,” is set to drop on July 11, and you can bet it’s been fine-tuned on a pair of KRKs.

Johhny G has had a passion for music since he was a child, learning various instruments, singing in the school choir, and making beats in his college dorm room, which is where he discovered his love for mixing. Music has also been a way for him to bond with his dad, who he says, “worked a lot of Saturday nights and would be off playing music for hours. Music has always kept us connected.”

As someone with a passion for both creating and producing music, Johhny G is a unique artist with a strong ear for quality sound and diverse musical interests. Instead of trying to box himself into a certain category, Johhny G leaves it up to his music and creates based on feeling, regardless of what label it suits. With his KRKs by his side, Johhny G continues to create with endless possibilities for what comes next.

Marshmellow Skies state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos facility pioneers immersive music production with KRK

Recording studio provides immersive experience for music lovers with the help of KRK studio monitors and subwoofers

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA, JUNE 18, 2025 Marshmellow Skies Recording Studio, recognized for its professional production and development services, recently opened as a cutting-edge recording facility equipped with Dolby Atmos capabilities. Led by GRAMMY®-winning Record Producer and Engineer Ken Caillat, Chief Engineer Claus Trelby, and Business Manager Nitanee Paris, the studio aims to elevate the musical experience for both artists and listeners.

In response to the increasing demand for immersive audio, the studio underwent a comprehensive redesign. “We built a new studio from the ground up, designing the control room specifically for immersive audio mixing,” says Trelby. “Our innovative setup includes KRK V8 and V6 Studio Monitors and KRK Subwoofers, which together ensure reliability across all volume levels. This allows artists to be fully immersed in the dynamics of their music as they create.”

Key features of the new studio include a meticulously designed control room and a reference theater with a 7.1.4 configuration, which enables rich audio experiences during sessions. “We also have a 9.1.6 setup with the KRK V8s on the horizontal and the V6s above us, along with two subwoofer cabinets on a single channel. The KRKs are great and able to handle the demands of both low and high-volume levels,” emphasized Trelby. “Working in such a space inspires creativity and aids in the transition to immersive audio formats.”

Marshmellow Skies has already made significant waves in the industry with projects like Joni Mitchell’s award-winning “Live at Newport” and Jazz Guitarist David Becker’s “Gravitationally Bound.” The studio’s new immersive audio environment allows for seamless recording and mixing. “The KRK speakers are integral to achieving this dynamic sound quality, allowing for both subtle and powerful audio without compromising the integrity of the music,” says Caillat.

Caillat elaborated on the importance of the KRK speakers used in the setup, sharing that “they are affordable speakers and sound great, too. They are beneficial for Dolby®—light, airy, and transparent.” Trelby echoes his sentiments, adding: “The KRKs translate really well, and I trust them. They are flat enough that it’s easy to EQ them to any production curve that we would need to, and we don’t have to reach far to hit these curves.”

Subwoofers are also an important part of any immersive room. “A subwoofer must be tight. You can’t have any residual waves coming out of them,” explains Trelby. “That is why the KRK subs are so great; they give you what you want and deliver a full and immersive audio experience.”

“Feedback from listeners has been overwhelmingly positive,” adds Paris. “Many people have shown a lot of emotion while experiencing the immersive audio for the first time, sharing with us how it transformed how they will listen to music in the future.”

As the music industry continuously evolves, Marshmellow Skies Recording Studio is at the forefront, shaping the future of sound. For artists seeking to explore the endless possibilities of immersive audio, the studio represents an exciting milestone with high-quality gear, including KRK studio monitors and subwoofers. This commitment to quality has resulted in multiple successful immersive albums for the team, including five collaborative projects with the legendary Joni Mitchell.

Marshmellow Skies is a premier recording studio based in California, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of music production with Dolby Atmos. Led by a team of industry veterans, the studio is committed to delivering the highest quality in audio production and creative collaboration.

Dylan Newman amplifies artist development with KRK’s GoAux Portable and ROKIT 8 Generation Five Studio Monitors

LOS ANGELES, FEBRUARY 11, 2025 Dylan Newman, Manager of Music and Talent at Nickelodeon and Artist Manager at NewManagement, is elevating his artist development strategy and audio production quality with KRK GoAux Portable Monitors and ROKIT 8 Generation Five Studio Monitors. With a rich history in artist discovery, development, and management, Dylan’s hands-on approach to audio finds perfect synergy with the KRK solutions, which are essential tools in his creative process.

Newman’s music journey began early, from self-taught drums and guitar to discovering his passion for music behind the scenes. Starting out as part of Purdue University’s Student Concert Committee, he quickly learned the ins and outs of concert promotion by working with high-profile acts like Luke Bryan and Macklemore. Newman’s exposure to A&R began with an internship at Sony Music, leading to roles at Columbia Records and Epic Records, where he was fortunate enough to contribute to projects for top artists like Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, and Future. “Artist development is in my blood,” says Newman, a value he extends to emerging talents like LOCS and PIAO at NewManagement and acts like Pressley Hosbach and Young Dylan at Nickelodeon’s music department.

Newman was first introduced to KRK by friends at Gibson, who gave him a first-hand look at KRK’s trusted performance in professional studios and artist setups. “When I first saw the GoAuxes, I recognized how the portability and minimal setup requirements made it easy to ensure audio quality from home to office or anywhere on the road,” he says. “They deliver the same natural and balanced frequency response that has become synonymous with the KRK name in a mobile-friendly package. Meanwhile, the ROKIT 8 Generation Five provides the precision and customization I need for mixing and refining audio to professional standards.”

Newman attributes much of his success to the sonic integrity that his KRK speakers provide. “I love my KRKs,” he continues. “They give my artists and me the clarity we need throughout the recording, mixing, and mastering stages. The GoAux speakers are portable yet powerful, fitting seamlessly into my busy schedule. The ROKIT 8 Generation Fives are my go-to for my home studio, allowing me to dig in and ensure top-quality production for my artists. In addition, the black and gold design is a staple in the industry; it’s become synonymous with quality.”

The KRK ROKIT Generation Five monitors are the most advanced in their class. Whether working on a chart-topping hit, a film score, or a personal project, the ROKITs provide the tools needed to capture every nuance of a user’s sound with astonishing clarity. The monitors’ onboard DSP technology provides three distinct Voicing Modes: Mix Mode, Create Mode, and Focus Mode, eliminating the need for separate sets of monitors for different tasks.

Newman’s dedication to sound is evident in his work at Nickelodeon’s music department, where he develops music for the brand’s record label, manages talent releases, and supports major events like the Kids’ Choice Awards. According to Newman, “Whether I’m listening to demos for Nickelodeon or refining LOCS’s latest tracks, KRK ensures that every sound detail is accurately represented. My partnership with KRK and Gibson has been essential in bringing quality audio to all my projects.”

ALT BLK ERA rocks out with KRK CLASSIC 5 Powered Studio Monitors

NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND, DECEMBER 10, 2024 ― Sibling alt-duo Nyrobi and Chaya Beckett-Messam, also known as ALT BLK ERA, recently wrapped their debut album “Rave Immortal,” which they recorded using their new KRK CLASSIC 5 Powered Studio Monitors. The album features a captivating collection of songs with a fusion of genres, combining the raw energy ofrock, the rhythmic pulse of electronica, and the haunting allure of dark pop. Each track reflects the sisters’ artistic evolution and deep-rooted connection, inviting listeners to experience an immersive soundscape.

From an early age, Nyrobi and Chaya sensed they shared a unique bond through music. Whether harmonizing with their favorite songs on the radio or creating their own melodies, the sisters soon discovered the power of their voices. Thus, ALT BLK ERA was formed, making a powerful entrance into the music scene with the release of the duo’s debut single, “Slowly Die: SOLAR,” in 2022. According to the pair, “the rest is history.”

Nyrobi and Chaya were introduced to KRK when they noticed that many well-respected musicians around them were using the monitors. Intrigued by the positive vibe surrounding KRK, the sisters decided to test out the brand. “We were in search of a pair of high-quality speakers that would last a long time. KRK came highly recommended,” says Chaya. “After hearing the CLASSICs for the first time, we were pleasantly surprised and knew we needed to get ourselves a pair; it was a game-changer.”

The ALT BLK ERA duo also discovered that the monitors significantly enhanced their production process, which helped them craft their debut album with newfound clarity and precision. “We were starting to produce ourselves, and the CLASSICs allowed us to be more technical and take the necessary next step in our musical journey,” says Nyrobi. “Whether we are producing or mixing, the KRKs bring out elements of our music that can be easily missed with conventional headphones or car speakers. From our wild DnB/metal style to our softer ALT pop/rock songs, the KRK CLASSICs help elevate our fans’ music listening experience to the next level.”

One of ALT BLK ERA’s favorite features of the CLASSICs is the system volume control, which provides seamless adjustments to sound levels. This allows them to dial in the perfect volume and enhance their overall listening experience. “I love the volume feature,” says Chaya. “The fact you can turn up the bass is awesome, and you can mix on the speakers as well. The monitors really helped us get our album to sound right.”

The sisters add that the KRK CLASSICs were instrumental in bringing the debut ALT BLK ERA album to life. “The CLASSICs will definitely be featured in our second album,” says Nyrobi. “I will not make any decisions without listening to our songs on those monitors first. If we hadn’t used them for ‘Rave Immortal,’ the album would have sounded completely different; the KRKs gave us a unique perspective that I think we really needed. The CLASSICs are next-level and offer a truly immersive experience. The next project that we do is going to be KRK certified for sure.”

Chaya, one-half of the power duo, plays guitar in addition to singing. She uses an Epiphone Les Paul, which she plans to bring when they go on tour.“I was first introduced to this guitar when we attended Gibson Garage London’s opening day,” she shares. “I had the opportunity to try various models and was drawn to the Les Paul. I played it for the first time during the 200trees Music Festival and have loved it ever since.”

ALT BLK ERA is set to make waves with the highly anticipated release, “Rave Immortal,” which is available for pre-order now and will drop on January 24, 2025. Fans won’t want to miss the duo’s album launch party in Nottingham on January 26, where they will bring the energy and excitement of their new music to life. Additionally, they will hit the stage in London on January 30 for another performance. ALT BLK ERA also recently announced a tour to promote the album, with dates in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Southampton, and London.
